Marc Emery is a Canadian cannabis rights activist, entrepreneur, and politician. Often described as ‘the Prince of Pot’, Emery has been one of the most notable advocates of international cannabis policy reform. As a political libertarian, Emery has also protested against Sunday shopping laws, obscenity laws, political endorsement of sporting events, Canadian censorship, and several taxes.
Emery has been jailed several times, and in 2009 was sentenced to a five-year sentence in a United States federal prison for selling mail-order cannabis seeds into the US. His story was featured in documentaries such as Super High Me and The Union: The Business Behind Getting High.
